About Dislexik
Born and raised in the Canadian prairies, I began as an industrial
producer in the early nineties. A fortunate bonding with the PPM
production company in Saskatoon brought on a love for all things
electronica and I soon branched out into spinning records as well as
producing various forms of dance music.
Fast forward a bit past the turn of the millenium and I had developed a
reputation across the prairies as one of the most diverse djs around.
My sets often move from house to breaks, techno to trance and back
again. I love to change things up a lot and make things challenging for
both myself and the audience.
Eventually I released a bootleg mashup which gathered attention
worldwide with dj's and party-goers alike and soon after was signed to
Pure Phunk Recordings, based out of Toronto. Systematica Records
(now defunct) released Sister Sinister to critical acclaim in the spring of 2007.
I'm also currently working on a few other projects including The Commodore 69s and my
solo rock/industrial/tribal whatever project which you can check out on Soundcloud.
On other fronts, I have worked now for years with western Canada's
horror rockers, "The New Jacobin Club", as their drummer and
programmer, with whom I have recorded two full length albums and an EP. After moving to Europe I effectively left the band but have contributed programming to their latest album "This Treason" which was released in 2010. Since I'm back in Saskatoon I sometimes still do guest appearances with them if scheduling works out!
Recently news:
I have released a remix of Aaron Olson's "Equilibrium" on Traffik records (UK) during the summer of 2010 followed by my track "Summer Storm" being released on Pop and Lock Records which included remixes by Myagi and Arkityp. In the fall of 2010 I was picked up by new Canadian techno labelGold N tech and have since released the "Moodswing EP". Coming up soon will be another release, "Passion EP". Stay tuned!
